Why digital skills matter

You are ahead of the crowd is you are learning the skills to build a business online.

According to a new report out, OECD Skills Outlook 2019, learning digital skills is growing in importance.

Now while this may not directly point to the skills we learn as internet marketers, building online skills will clearly put us in an advantageous position.

As the report says – 1 of 8 American workers and 1 of 7 Europeans are highly vulnerable to automation and require retraining.

GET ON THE BANDWAGON

The world of work is changing and clearly those who can learn the skills associated with a digital world will be better placed going forward.

Let’s take a case in point – building funnels to sell products.

Now, you more than likely know about Clickfunnels and their product, their training, and the ability to make an income from promoting it – CHECK IT OUT HERE.

That’s great. But a growing number of budding internet marketers build their funnel-making and marketing skills to then offer this as a service for companies, big and small.

Here’s the good thing – If you learn the skills to build sales funnels for your own online business then you may also be able to promote this as a premium service to companies and individuals.

If you are an internet marketer then you more than likely are building a range of skills. This puts you in a good position for running your own business – affiliate marketing or your own products – and you might find your skill and success puts you in a good position to sell a service to local businesses, for example.

A colleague of mine ran with this a decade ago – Ricardo Lopez learnt affiliate marketing and zeroed in on Facebook marketing. He now runs a highly successful company that runs Facebook marketing campaigns for big companies – and he is a frequent VIP visitor to Facebook offices around the world.

And he started out like you and me …

DIGITAL SKILLS MATTER

As I say, the work world is changing and we would be well advised to learn the skills to operate effectively in the online space.

Build the skills to run your own business online and you will be in a better place to take advantage of opportunities – not a non-tech Luddite who is at sea with few options.

It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Make efforts to learn the digital skills to run an online business and you will be better placed for success.
